Saving Arizona’s stray, street, and dumped dogs

Our Mission

The Watchdog Foundation’s mission is to help eradicate the stray animal population in Arizona by educating the public and supporting local animal rescues and shelters. By providing funding for adoptions, medical care, and spay and neutering procedures, our goal is to uplift and assist in keeping animals off the streets and into the loving care they deserve.

Dear Watchdog Family & Supporters,

We have seen a huge boom in growth over the last two months, making us a known resource in the East Valley for dumped and stray dogs. With the closures and intake freezes at the county over the last several days, we’ve already felt the impact. Search and rescue efforts are past capacity.

This leads us to a difficult decision. Due to the recent outbreak of distemper, parvo, and other highly transmitted diseases, we are on an intake freeze until further notice. Our intake team has discretionary oversight on all rescue efforts moving forward. We do not have enough funding and resources to sustain the intake capacity we’ve been able to establish after this most recent litter with Parvo. We are in desperate need of funding and donations to continue our efforts. We also need experienced fosters or new fosters who are willing to learn our processes and practices for future rescue efforts.

Please know this decision does not come lightly, but we cannot provide for new intakes without the ability to pay for the fosters currently in our care. If you would like to help us during these times of crisis, please consider doing so. We need you now more than ever.

Thank you,

The team at The Watchdog Foundation
